Tour Details

DAY 01: Arrival in Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi and meet your guide. Explore the Old Town’s 36 alleys and the French Quarter, then enjoy Vietnam’s famous egg coffee. End the day relaxing by Hoan Kiem Lake.

DAY 02: Hanoi

Explore Independence Square and visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Imperial Citadel, and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university honouring Confucius. In the evening, enjoy a traditional water puppet performance.

DAY 03: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Pu Luong

In the morning, drive through northern Vietnam’s lush countryside to Mai Chau Valley. Visit a White Thai village with traditional stilt houses and enjoy lunch in this peaceful setting. Continue to Pu Luong Nature Reserve to admire rice terraces, green mountains, and streams. After a short walk, return to the ecolodge.

DAY 04: Pu Luong - Ninh Binh

Early risers can admire the mist-shrouded valley before breakfast. Afterward, enjoy an easy hike through rice fields, passing a Thai mountain village and learning about local life. Travel to Ninh Binh Province, where jagged karst cliffs emerge, and take a scenic rowboat ride through waterways winding past rice fields. In the afternoon, visit Bich Dong Pagoda.

DAY 05: Ninh Binh - Halong Bay

Today, board your Halong Bay cruise after hotel pick-up and arrival at the harbor. Check into your cabin and enjoy a freshly prepared seafood lunch as the junk sails through the stunning bay. In the afternoon, explore by rowboat or kayak, then watch the sunset from the upper deck while having dinner.

DAY 06 : Halong Bay – Hue

Begin the day with a Tai Chi session on the sun deck, followed by breakfast amidst the beauty of Halong Bay. Visit a karst cave to admire its unique stalagmites and stalactites. After lunch on board, return to Hanoi and board the night train to Hue. 

DAY 07 : Hue

Upon arrival in Hue, explore the old imperial citadel and the Forbidden City, once reserved for the imperial family. Visit the seven-story Thien Mu Pagoda on the scenic Perfume River. In the afternoon, enjoy a bike ride through flower fields and nearby villages, discovering traditional houses and learning about incense stick production.

DAY 08: Hue - Hoi An

After breakfast, ride Vietnamese cyclos to Dong Ba Market, exploring colorful spices, fruits, and traditional goods. Encounter locals carrying bamboo poles with rice baskets, then visit one of Hue’s most impressive imperial tombs. In the afternoon, travel to Hoi An, crossing the scenic Hai Van Pass and passing the Marble Mountains, with the South China Sea alongside the route.

DAY 09: Hoi An

In Hoi An, explore coastal life by boat and bike, visiting a local fishing village to learn about traditional livelihoods in Central Vietnam. Ride in round bamboo basket boats through a mangrove forest of water coconut palms and try catching crabs and fish. Return to town to discover Hoi An’s historic heritage, including the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, before ending the day among colorful lanterns along the canal.

DAY 10 : Hoi An - Mui Ne

Experience traditional Vietnamese farming in a local vegetable village, learning about sowing, irrigating, and harvesting in the lush fields. Prepare a fresh lunch during a hands-on cooking class using locally picked ingredients. In the afternoon, fly from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, then continue to the beach resort of Mui Ne.

DAY 11: Mui Ne

The next two days are at leisure.

DAY 12: Mui Ne

After breakfast, relax by the pool and enjoy a refreshing swim in the beautifully landscaped surroundings. Take time to unwind with a few peaceful hours in a hammock.

DAY 13 : Mui Ne - Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, travel back to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). In the afternoon, pass landmarks such as Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office, designed with contributions from Gustave Eiffel, a perfect chance to send a postcard home. In the evening, an optional street food tour by scooter offers an authentic culinary adventure, with experienced drivers guiding you to carefully selected local food stops.

DAY 14 - Ho Chi Minh City - Excursion to Cu Chi

Step back in time with a visit to the remarkable Cu Chi Tunnels, a vast underground network used by guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War. Stretching more than 200 kilometers, the tunnels housed hidden living quarters, schools, and field hospitals. See the cleverly camouflaged entrances and, if you wish, crawl through a short section of the tunnels. In the afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy free time, with your guide offering recommendations for shopping, handicrafts, and museums.

DAY 15 - Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta

In the morning, depart Ho Chi Minh City and travel south to the famous Mekong Delta, the lifeline of southern Vietnam. Here, the mighty river branches into a maze of canals and waterways, best explored by boat like the locals. Thanks to its fertile soil, the delta produces abundant rice, fruits, and vegetables. In the afternoon, visit an orchard on a river island to taste seasonal produce before continuing to Can Tho for the night.

DAY 16: Mekong Delta

Start early to witness the lively atmosphere of Cai Rang Floating Market, cruising along the river as traders sell fresh fruits and vegetables from their boats. Unlike tourist markets, this is a genuine wholesale market, with activity varying by season and harvest. In the afternoon, visit a nearby nature reserve and glide by small boat through dense mangroves, passing water orchids and exotic birds.

DAY 17 : Mekong Delta - Phnom Penh

After catching a glimpse of Cambodia from afar, travel by speedboat to Phnom Penh, completing immigration formalities en route. Arrive around midday and begin an afternoon city tour, visiting the Throne Hall of the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda with its elegant multi-tiered roof. End the day at Wat Phnom, reaching the hilltop temple by bicycle taxi at dusk.

DAY 18 : Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

After breakfast, enjoy a free morning to explore Phnom Penh at your own pace. At lunchtime, travel by bus to Siem Reap, the gateway to the magnificent Angkor temple complex. In the evening, savor authentic Khmer cuisine at one of the city’s many restaurants.

DAY 19 : Siem Reap & Angkor

After breakfast, embark on a full-day exploration of the Angkor UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel by semi-tuk-tuk to Angkor Thom, crossing the statue-lined bridge and entering through the south gate to explore Bayon with its 200+ mysterious faces. Visit Ta Prohm, famously entwined with massive tree roots, before exploring the iconic Angkor Wat. End the day watching the sunset from a more remote temple amid ruins and jungle, then return to Siem Reap.

DAY 20: Siem Reap & Angkor

Continue exploring the Angkor temples, visiting architecturally unique sites off the beaten path with intricate carvings that captivate the eye. Conclude the day with a jungle hike to Kbal Spean waterfall, marvelling at the imaginative riverbed and rock reliefs.

DAY 21 : Siem Reap - Tonle Sap Lake – Return

The final stop is Tonle Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, vital for Cambodia’s fishing industry. Explore stilt and floating villages by boat, passing a floating school and police station, and see how locals live in harmony with the water levels. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your return flight, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences in Vietnam and Cambodia.
